Forecastly ("we", "us", "our") provides inventory forecasting and management tools for Shopify merchants. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you install Forecastly from Shopify, we access the following data from your store:

• Store information — shop name, domain, owner name, email, country, currency, and Shopify plan
• Orders — order IDs, amounts, dates, financial status, line items (product names, SKUs, quantities, prices)
• Products & variants — titles, SKUs, prices, inventory quantities, images
• Inventory levels — current stock quantities

We also collect:

• Account info — name and role you provide during setup
• Usage data — pages visited, features used (via PostHog analytics)
• Feature requests — feedback you voluntarily submit

2. How We Use Your Data

• Generate revenue forecasts and inventory predictions
• Track stock levels and bill-of-materials deductions
• Provide smart reorder suggestions
• Sync inventory between Forecastly and Shopify
• Improve our product and fix bugs

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon (AWS EU-West-2, London region). Our application runs on Railway. All connections use TLS encryption.

Shopify access tokens are encrypted at rest using Fernet symmetric encryption. We do not store customer personal data (names, addresses, emails) from your orders beyond what Shopify provides in the order object.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

• Sentry — error monitoring (sends technical error data, not business data)
• PostHog — product analytics and session recordings

No other third parties receive your store data.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as you have Forecastly installed. If you uninstall the app or request deletion, we will remove all your store data within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You can:

• Request your data — email us and we'll provide an export
• Request deletion — uninstall the app or email us
• Withdraw consent — uninstall the app at any time from your Shopify admin

If you are in the EU/UK, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability.

7. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. PostHog may set analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the app.
